I am Shoban Narayanan, Visual Effects Supervisor/Compositing Supervisor working for Hollywood feature films and television shows in Vancouver British Columbia Canada. My recent film credits are The Legend of Tarzan (2016) X-MAN APPOCALYPSE (2016), FAST AND FURIOUS (2015), PAN (2015), CAPTAIN AMERICA The Winter Soldier (2014).

After my 10th exams, I wanted to get in graphics, and felt best way is to learn from the industry directly. So I met Mr.Arul Moorthy, who was heading EDIT POINT (Now Digital Magic / Davinci Media College) and requested him for a training. He obliged and started training me and it was a very interesting experience working under his supervision. His interest on finding raw talents and moulding them in to exceptional artist is one of his best skill set. I am proud that I was trained under his supervision with strong fundamentals on visual effects with great challenging shows. Everyone has passion to achieve in their life, but to drive that passion you need to have good mentors and expertise influence to make it promising outcome. I wish all my digital magic fellow artist great success and challenging career opportunities. Last but not least! He can train anyone to be exceptional artist, but passion has to start from you.

“I joined at Digital Magic as a trainee in the VFX department. But through Davinci Media College, I was given training in DI colorist. Due to my love for photography, I was able to learn the tools and techniques very quickly, and I did my first project from Hollywood, thanks to Digital Magic management that trussed me, the project “Where are you Sophia, had very challenging color correction. In fact, that movie had nearly 80% of the shots that were shot in the day, need to be color graded to night. I did a good job, and the client was very happy. From that time, I have done lot of projects in various languages. Currently I am doing some of the top projects in South India, thanks to the strength that I got from Digital Magic and Davinci Media College.”

“I joined Davinci Media College in the editing course. Upon completion of the course, based on my performance, I was given a job at Digital Magic Studio. I was handling lots of projects as editing assistant, but also got upgraded my training to DI conformist. I did lot of projects in Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. Then I upgraded my training to DI Colorist. Currently, I have worked more than 50 movie projects in various capacities, as Conformist, Line Producer and DI Colorist. My growth from known knowledge about the industry, to a very important position in my company is very satisfying, thanks to Davinci Media College.”

“My dream was to work good 3D Animation projects. So I joined in Davinci Media College. What I liked at Davinci was the faculty’s thorugh knowledge in the subjects, and their willingness to teach us in the easiest possible way. While studying, I participated in the competition and that resulted in my getting well versed with various tools. My mini project, which had “thadam” got lots of appreciation. Also Davinci helped to complete the project work. This was 3 years back. Now, I am working as the 3D modeler in the studio in Chennai. I find, all the basics that I learned at Davinci is very useful and I strongly recommend anyone who wants to learn animation to join at Davinci Media College, Chennai.

“When I completed my school, I was not sure of what I am going to do as my profession. So, I ended up working in garment factory in Bangalore. But my love was to be in the creative industry. With no connection with the job I was doing, I took a risky decision to quit the job and joined Davinci. They promised me, if I am sincere to my course, they can get me a job and career. While studying at Davinci, I got an opportunity to work in a real project called, Indie Jonesing, from Canada. That was a very complicated work with lots of layering. My faculty Akshay sir helped me to do the work, and we got a very good output. That gave me a great confidence, and Davinci also helped me to get a job in future works studios. From then, I have handled a lots of projects from various languages, and I am really enjoying my job, thanks to Davinci for keeping their promise.”

Vignesh was very hard working, and was willing to take responsibilities on his shoulder. Even when he was completing his course, he was able to handle complicated composting work. And from there now I am very happy to see that he is doing a great job” says Akshay who taught Dynamics to Vignesh.

“My dream was to work good 3D Animation projects. So I went from Bangalore to Chennai to join in Davinci Media College. What I liked at Davinci was the faculty’s thorugh knowledge in the subjects, and their willingness to teach us in the easiest possible way. While studying, I participated in the competition and that resulted in my getting well versed with various tools. My mini project, which had sword fighting got lots of appreciation. Also Davinci helped to complete the project work. This was 3 years back. Now, I am working as the Rigging artists in the studio in Bangalore. I find, all the basics that I learned at Davinci is very useful and I strongly recommend anyone who wants to learn animation to join at Davinci Media College, Chennai.
